The ambiance at LeRoy Neiman Jazz Cafe is both inviting and relaxed, enhanced by unique artistic decor that echoes the vibrant spirit of jazz. Enjoy your meal while gazing out at the classic architecture of the nearby EPA federal building, creating an inspiring backdrop that beautifully complements your dining experience.

Despite its location in a busy tourist hub, this cafe takes pride in its surprisingly good food, as highlighted by numerous patrons. Customers rave about the Grilled Cheese Sandwich paired with Tomato Soup ($14), which offers a comforting combination perfect for a windy day. Reviewers like Hilda Kroll found it to be a great refuge after a stroll around the Tidal Basin. Whether you’re easing into your day with a warm soup or looking for a satisfying snack, the cafe’s menu delivers satisfaction.

For those in a hurry, the efficient service is a common highlight among visitors. It's the little moments like these that transform a simple coffee break into something memorable.

Christian Hoehner offers a clever tip: for just $22, you can indulge in a bottle of wine while soaking up the atmosphere—a steal given the retail price elsewhere! Although not a fine dining establishment, LeRoy Neiman Jazz Cafe provides an affordable option for those wanting to enjoy a glass of wine without straying far from the wonders of the museum.

While the cafe may not have the extensive menu of a full-fledged restaurant, it delivers reliably good options reminiscent of familiar favorites. Patrons have given the food here an approving nod, with standout mentions like the $7 hotdog praised for its taste and generous toppings. This highlights the cafe’s commitment to exceeding expectations, even amidst its tourist-centric location.

If you’re in the vicinity of the National Mall, make it a point to stop by the LeRoy Neiman Jazz Cafe. With its blend of artistic charm, welcoming service, and satisfying offerings, it's a delightful escape that adds a touch of warmth to your DC experience.

After walking around the Tidal Basin, I was hungry and needed to sit down. The Grilled Cheese Sandwich and Tomato Soup ($14) were perfect for a cool, windy day. A nice atmosphere to relax and enjoy lunch.

Just got a coffee there. Everyone was extremely nice and fast. I got my coffee very quickly. Be warned you can’t walk around the whole museum with your coffee.

Is this fine dining? No. But can you get yourself an entire bottle of wine for $22 while enjoying the American History Museum (retail of this Cab is $15)? Yep! You aren’t going to find a more affordable wine spot along the National mall. The cafe has some fun art and nice views of the EPA federal building (love me some intimidating classical architecture). If you want a nice meal walk two blocks north to The Hamilton, Old Ebbitt, or Elephant and Castle, to name a few of the many options. But if you need a snack and a tannin fix with friendly service and some jazz tunes, then this should work!

There was no one at the info center to leave a comment card, so I am doing it here. The gentleman who works in this café that goes by Herbert is amazing. He is very kind and courteous and personable. I think the world needs a whole lot more Herbert’s!

Excellent service, good but on the Starbucks side there is no way to give tips, WHY? Such an awesome service and no way to award it? They deserve 25%. Pls fix it. Keep it up!

I can't vouch for the food, but for drinks there are some positives: Starbucks coffee, and drinkable wine by the glass. The atmosphere is relaxing, especially in the lower area with cafe tables by the big window with daylight and an outside view. Temper your expectations, and this is a nice place to take a break from exploring the many exhibits in this less-known museum on The Mall.

The food was surprisingly good and exceeded expectations considering it being a tourist attraction cafe. Prices are steep, but it's shocking that the $7 hotdog was well worth the price regarding taste and toppings. The rest of the menu seems "ok".
